Moved around a lot growing up – New Jersey, England, Texas, and Holland, went to school in rhode island brown university graduated 1995 learned how to think , not draw live & work in brooklyn which is loud & dirty, anything goes kind of artist – painting, words, illustration, design whatever.
Inspired by the rawness of living, bits&pieces of conversations, the City’s assault on the senses, chicks who ride tigers in bikinis, hand drawn lettering, badass poets, Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends and Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, ralph steadman&gerald scarfe, ee cummings, the rush of a polaroid, African masks and of course, familY, yummy boyfriend and dog, zebedee.
Scratch it up, rough it up, scatter splats, add some words, Blast some color, layers & layers and more layers, think think & rethink, read the dictionary, happys & sads & social commentary, all materials make a different mark, fat, thin, jagged, runny, oozy, pointy, uneven, paper is good, the scanner is my best friend, found objects on the side of the road are always wonderful sources of soul & goo.
