Parisian born Veronique Vial is internationally renowned for her celebrity photographs which have appeared in many magazines including Vanity Fair, Premiere, GQ, Esquire, Glamour, Elle and Vogue, among others.
In this series of works, entitled “men before ten a.m.” Vial captures on film internationally recognized actors, writers, artists and film directors in intimate contexts, offering rare insight into the private lives of some very public figures.
“I have an idea that men put their masks on by ten o’clock in the morning,” she says, “if you want to capture what is inside a man, you have to catch him when he first wakes up.”
Arriving early for appointments enabled Vial to find these celebrities unmasked, resulting in such rare images as Gary Oldman in bed, Peter Fonda sleeping, and Tim Roth with the first cigarette of the day.
Also photographer and author of Women Before 10 AM, Veronique Vial is known for her ability to capture celebrities in their most intimate and candid moments.
